ABOUT THE SESSION

Matthew Tirschwell has been designing lighting systems for more than 25 years. He has suffered through the myriad of “innovations” the lighting community has produced, often at the expense of both unbillable hours and clients’ frustrations. In this session, Tirschwell will share projects that have had challenges, and things to consider as these lights have become the norm.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • Understand the pros and cons of LED lighting in specific applications.
  • Understand the differences between light sources, power supplies, and control systems, and how that may impact the design solution.
  • Learn best practices for specifying lighting fixtures and what are the important red flags to look for.
  • Learn about hotspots and challenges from real projects, where even the best of intentions may not have hit the mark.
