ABOUT THE SESSION

This session will highlight design requirements in the Light Concept of The WELL Building Standard®. Particular attention will be paid to the preconditions required for Silver Certification with a brief overview of the optimization features. For the best success, WELL should be considered at the beginning of the project enabling the lighting designer to validate the design as it progresses through construction and performance verification.

  • Brief overview of the WELL Building Light Concept.
  • Understand the difference in preconditions and optimizations in the WELL Light Concept and why this is important for compliance.
  • Learn the intentions for preconditions in the Light Features and Parts.
  • Know what documentation is required for the WELL Light Features and the scope of services required.

Dawn Hollingsworth, CLD, LC, FIALD, WELL AP is a Certified Lighting Designer (CLD) by the Certified Lighting Design Commission, a certified Lighting Professional by the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (NCQLP) and a WELL Accredited Professional by the International WELL Building Institute. Dawn is a Fellow of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD). She has over 35 years’ experience with diversified expertise in theatrical and architectural lighting design and control systems, marketing, business management, product management and development, manufacturing, scenic design and event production and has presented at every major industry conference. Dawn is currently a senior lecturer at Otis College of Art and Design.
