Delray Lighting owner, Steve Feig, recently retired from the company he started 30 years ago with engineer and designer, Steve Babbitt. Eager to leave the company in good hands, he is happy to announce that David Komonosky took the reins as president on July 1, 2019.
Feig says of the new president, "Many of you probably already know Komonosky, as he’s a 30+ year veteran of the lighting industry. He holds a degree in Architectural Engineering from Penn State, is LEED accredited, and has one of the most diverse backgrounds in our industry, having worked as a lighting designer and electrical engineer and, most notably, as founder of two of the nation’s most successful lighting sales agencies, 16500 in San Francisco and Performance Lighting Systems in Los Angeles."
Staff with whom many have worked for many years will continue with Delray, including engineers, Steve Babbitt and Vish Upadhye, Eastern Regional Sales Manager, Mark Rorrison, and Western Regional Sales Manager, Bill Russ. Customer Service Representative, Claudia Maldonado, and Manufacturing Foreman, Jorge Santos, are staying on; as are Maria Osso and Rowena Garcia in Accounting. Jim Suthers will continue in Graphic Design and Marketing.
Komonosky has partnered with Stone Arch Capital, a private equity firm based in Minneapolis, to acquire Delray. With shared goals of organic sales growth and additional acquisitions, both are committed to the success of Delray Lighting LLC and Delray Sales Reps for the next 30-plus years!
“I am passionate about the lighting industry, and will build upon Delray’s existing strong foundation and reputation to ensure that Delray is the most coveted manufacturer on everyone’s Line Card. I look forward to developing new and innovative products with the team already in place. I have a lot of creative ideas, and I’m excited to bring those ideas to life with Delray Lighting!” – DAVID KOMONOSKY
